There were grainy screenshots, sure, and the addition of easy screen recording in iOS 11 helped some, but for the most part if you wanted to see something on Snapchat you had to open up the app. Unlike a Facebook, or a Twitter, or an Instagram, there really was no good way to share Snapchat content. Brittany murphy simon monjack house8/31/2023 ![]() “I’m so grateful that they were willing to to participate,” Hill says. On the flip side, when Monjack’s mother and brother heard about this docuseries, they reached out and ended up sitting down for a joint interview. “I did get confirmation from someone else that she had received it,” Hill says about the letter. Hill says Sharon Murphy was “the first person on my interview ‘want’ list,” but despite attempts to reach her via phone, letters and a private investigator “to make sure that she received our letter,” Sharon Murphy “never officially responded to us.” The archival footage of Murphy as a child came from “connections we made in New Jersey,” Hill notes, rather than Murphy’s family. I don’t know if that’s really how she felt, but it did give us at least something to work with.” “Our team started watching these movies, and it just was interesting to see how her movie roles, there was some poignant moments where there were parallels and it just really made sense to try to give her voice that way and to let her have a moment to speak for herself. When you start looking at the archives, we have EPKs, red carpets none of that is intimate or personal,” Hill says. Since Murphy is no longer here to speak for herself, Hill uses archival video of her as a child, as well as clips from her movies - from “Clueless” to “Girl, Interrupted” to “Uptown Girls” - to punctuate key points in her biography. She was already struggling, and he just made it impossible for her. He just made it impossible for her to work. “On that last job, I still haven’t gotten a very clear picture, but he was, I think, in an altercation with somebody on that movie. And so, he had her convinced that he was doing right by her and that he was her savior, and in fact it was quite the opposite,” Hill says. “Alex Merkin, who directed her in ‘Across the Hall,’ he said that he would create this chaos so that he could come in and pluck her and save her from the chaos. It also recounts stories from those who worked with her but had no direct access to her and instead had to do everything through him. The documentary alleges that Monjack fed her insecurities about her body and what she thought a leading lady had to look like, leading to rumors about plastic surgery, anorexia and drug abuse. Oh my gosh, that’s so great I’m so happy for her.’ When most of us, I think probably any of us, would think about ourselves first. “One of her former managers told me that she’d never met anyone like her and that they would go on auditions and it would be a role she really wanted and someone else would get it, and so she would have to tell Brittany, ‘You didn’t get the role, so and so got it.’ And Brittany would always say, ‘Oh, she’s so perfect for that role. ![]() Hill wanted the docuseries to explore Murphy’s talent, but also her open spirit and trusting nature, which she believes ultimately allowed Monjack into her life in the first place and arguably allowed him to control her life once he was there. In addition to featuring interviews with Murphy’s friends and collaborators, such as “Clueless” director Amy Heckering and “King of the Hill” co-star Kathy Najimy, and journalists who reported on Murphy’s life and death, Hill includes clips from YouTubers in the docuseries. I do think that it says a lot about where we are right now,” she says. People are so fascinated by it, including me. Many still run rampant on YouTube today.Īll of that fed into the appeal for Hill to taking on Brittany Murphy’s story. When Monjack died of pneumonia and anemia just months after Murphy, those cries turned to conspiracy theories. Because her death was so unexpected, and in the end ruled to be caused by something seemingly easily treatable (a combination of pneumonia, anemia and drug intoxication), fans and internet sleuths cried foul play. The appeal of Murphy’s story for an audience member, especially one active on social media, is obvious: She was a talented actor struck down in her prime. ![]() The novella establishes that the two protagonists are women – but the internet being the internet I was suspicious whether one of them or both were being truthful about their identities and their genders since it was commonplace in the 2000s to find men trying to pass off as women in lesbian chatrooms. I’ve been dabbling in unconventional formatting for many years now and this novella seemed like a natural progression for me and my work. I shudder when I think of accidentally stumbling upon something that wasn’t meant for me to see-something horrible, something truly disturbing. That’s profoundly unsettling to me as a highly desensitized lover of horror. The reason I chose this particular format for the novella was because I wanted the reader to feel voyeuristic in their reading, as if they were reading something they knew they shouldn’t be reading. I admire any opportunity to tell a story in a way that might be unique for the reader. I’ve always been fascinated by books with unconventional formatting. What inspired you to write the novella in the format that you did? *Thank you so much to the author for the digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! Read this novella for a violent, wild ride full of debauchery and horror. The ending is a masterclass of true horror and one that readers won’t easily forget. I recommend reading this book in one sitting – it’s much more impactful that way as the tension and dread increases with each passing page. It’s told in epistolary format of email exchanges and IM’s, making the reader feel that extra layer of voyeurism that ramps up the creepiness factor. The writing is very engaging and very vivid, creating a visceral rollercoaster that will leave you wondering WTF did you experience. As the days go by the two women forge a tight relationship which slowly descends to sadomasochism and careens to absolute horrific madness. I know, I found the way the two protagonists virtually met strange for a horror novella, but it was very intriguing how their bond slowly grows. Minecraft aim game8/30/2023 ![]() If you want, you can go in game and press Alt+Backspace to verify that it does a perfect 360.Ĭase 2: If your game isn't listed in the dropdowns, then you will need to go into the game and capture your sensitivity. This is the basis of the script and how you test if it's right or not.Ĭase 1: If the game you want to copy your mouse sensitivity from is already listed in the dropdown list, then it's easy - just set the yaw to that game, then type in your sensitivity after. With this in mind, the sensitivity matcher script has a shortcut where pressing Alt+Backspace will attempt to perform a perfect 360° turn, provided you have the correct yaw and sensitivity values set. Converting sensitivity from one game to another is incredibly easy if you know the yaw values for both games: = * ÷. E.g: if you move ten pixels worth of movement with 1.5 sens in Quake, then it spins your character 10*1.5*0.022 = 0.33 degrees. The result is the number of degrees that you turn. So when you move your mouse to the side, games will take the number of pixels the mouse cursor would have moved on your desktop, then multiply that by your mouse sensitivity value, and the yaw value. Sometimes it's known or even changeable (Quake/Source engine historically has used 0.022 by default, and often you can use the m_yaw command to set it), sometimes it's hidden (Overwatch is known to be 0.0066), and sometimes it scales with the game's FOV (which is the default for Unreal Engine games, unless the developer turns the option off). The most important thing to know is that each 3D game has an internal "yaw" value that is used to translate horizontal mouse movements to turning in 3D games. ![]() I also have a few videos showing earlier stages of the app.True Gent shows some generic use cases with Apex and COD.Struth shows how to use it for Fortnite specifically.Download the latest version here! An unarmed black teen equates shots fired, ending in death, but a white mass murderer takes the lives of 9 African Americans in a act of domestic terrorism is taken into custody, given special treatment, and protection by the same “law” that doesn’t protect ‘our’ rights. The line “ They have the authority to kill a minority…” isn’t just a lyric in a random song when in ‘our’ reality it borderlines unwritten “law”. That feeling rings especially true when unarmed Black men and women are continuously being murdered by police. With the recent acknowledgment of the 1-year anniversary of Michael Brown’s tragic death, many, if not all, African Americans feel things have never changed. Many black men can recite these lyrics and feel the same emotional rage Cube did. The same sentiments that I have as a young black man in America today were what Ice Cube felt in 1988. On their controversial hit, “F*ck the Police”, N.W.A.’s Ice Cube rapped: “Fuck tha police coming straight from the underground, A young nigga got it bad cause I’m brown, and not the other color…So police think they have the authority to kill a minority” On the brink of the their coming of age biopic “Straight Outta Compton” ( In theaters August 14th) which highlights the events that provided for such gut-filled lyrics for their debut we look back, line for line, on how the reflection of their views mirror today’s images. N.W.A.’s debut release was filled with controversial lyrics focused on discrimination, gang violence and police brutality, with South Central, Los Angeles as the backdrop. When West coast-based rap group N.W.A released “Straight Outta Compton” in 1988, the young men single-handedly introduced gangsta rap to mainstream America, and forever left their mark in hip-hop history. My only complaint is that I would like to do PXE boot. What else is there to say? Once Windows 11 is installed, it will automatically install the Parallels Tools in the VM, to better integrate Windows 11 into your environment. And of course it can download and install various flavors of Linux as well. to meet the Windows hardware requirements. To run Windows 11, it does provide the expected virtual TPM 2.0 support, UEFI, Secure Boot, etc. It will even download the Windows 11 VHDX for you: Parallels goes out of its way to show Windows front-and-center, even though Microsoft barely supports this with a VHDX disk image of the latest ARM64 Windows 11 Insider Preview build. Next, you get a choice of OSes to install. As there can be a lot of confusion around what you can (ARM64) and can’t (Intel) emulate on an M1 Mac, Parallels needs to start with a screenful of information: You typically start off with a virtualization solution by creating a VM, so let’s start there. So what’s the difference? Let’s do a quick comparison. VMware then later released a tech preview for their own VMware Fusion software (free while in preview). Initially, the only option for running virtual machines on M1 Macs was Parallels Desktop, so that’s where I started. (You might think the first VM was a Windows VM, but that’s not the case, the first was a Fedora 34 Linux installation. Not surprisingly, the first thing I wanted to do on it was to run virtual machines. I have a Mac Mini with the original ARM-based M1 chip. Oh, and you can generate your own Windows 11 ARM64 ISOs now too, just like Parallels does.
